Florencia Rasmussen-Ito, MS, BS

Health & Habit Apps Editor

8 years in public health and health-tech editorial

About Florencia Rasmussen-Ito

Florencia Rasmussen-Ito is the health and habit apps editor at whichapp.report. She owns the calorie-app, sleep-app, habit-app, and meditation-app decision trees, and personally writes the keystone calorie-app guide that anchors the site’s health-app coverage.

After completing her BS in Biology at the University of Florida in 2016, Florencia entered Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health for an MS in Public Health Informatics, graduating in 2018. She spent the next three years as a research assistant at the CDC’s Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity, working on the agency’s dietary surveillance methodology. Her CDC work centered on the question of how mobile dietary-assessment tools could (or could not) reliably substitute for traditional 24-hour recall instruments at population scale.

She left the CDC in 2021 to write about health-tech for general audiences, joining a major consumer-tech publication where she covered fitness wearables, sleep trackers, and dietary-assessment apps for three years. She joined whichapp.report in September 2025 because she wanted to write decision trees rather than listicles — her view, articulated in her published work, is that the listicle format actively misleads readers about which app will work for them, because it strips away the conditional structure of the actual recommendation.
